Meeting Minutes - St. Paul Parish Council - 12/04/2006
Attending: Fr. Romanus, Vince Sciano, Pat Sciano, Paul Anderson, Linda Krowsky. Richard Kacharski
Minutes:
Meeting commenced at 6:38pm.
(Item 1): Paul Anderson led us in the opening prayer.
(Item 2): Paul Anderson added a couple of additions to the minutes from the November meeting.
(Item 3): Joel Tomski has requested that he no longer be responsible for updating the street sign at the brother house. Letter turned in to Janet. Joel should be thanked for his help all this time. Need a volunteer to take this over. As a committee we will try to take care of this ourselves, at least through the Crhistmas season.
(Item 4): Paul Anderson will update the pictures for the website.
(Item 5): Paul Anderson obtained a copy of example Stewardship Committee bylaws from the Archdiocese. With approval of the committee this will be added verbatim to the by-laws and an a reference to the new committee in our constitution. Need approval from the parish to make official.
(Item 6): Paul Anderson opened the discussion to any additions or changes to the Gratitude portion of Stewardship.
Number 2:
Pat Sciano - suggested adding "thank yous" in the bulletin or on the website as appropriate.
Linda Krowsky - suggested looking into getting a person from our parish in the "people of faith" section of the Catholic Herald. Paul Anderson will look into.
Paul Anderson suggested we look at updating the website with current parish andparish activity pictures. What help will Sharon and Joel need in this regard?
Number 3:
Vince Sciano - keep a "thank you" folder of those people who should be recognized for good things that have been done.
Paul Anderson - brainstorm next meeting on those people should be recognized. Make the spring "Taste of St. Paul" get together a "thank you" meeting.
Number 7:
Pat Sciano - thought of things we are doing already: Giving Tree, Unity and IC Meal programs, and St Vincent DePaul Society.
Fr. Romanus - suggested designating a percentage of our proceeds to a charity or "sister" parish. We need our parish budget in order for now, but should be a consideration in the future.
(Item 7): Paul Anderson presented a summary of the last APC meeting. A review of the the cluster parish membership and attendance was reviewed. The APC would like to see an effort by the parishes to find ways to increase attendance of registered members by 20%.
A review of the cluster parish schools asked for by the Archdiocese. Who supports and how?
Updating Our Mission of Charity and Justice.
(Item 8): Taste of St. Paul's: April 22 after the 10:15 am Mass. Cluster Social Event: June 10th after the 10:15 am Mass. January 8th Parish Council Christmas Party.
(Item 9): Fr. Romanus/Rich Kucharski - need to have a budget for the Archdiocese to help them determine our assessment. We also need a more formal Finance Committee. Finances are well managed, but we need to make sure that others are involved and understand our financial situation.
