MEETING MINUTES
Present: Fr.
Romanus,
Dick Kucharski, Vince Sciano, Linda Krowsky, Sue Kakatsch,
Pat Sciano
Candidates for Parish Council/
Anne Uecker
The meeting began at
Sherri went on to describe the terms of the School Advisory Board and what is expected as far as meeting attendance and participation in one of the committees connected to the Board.
Paul, Sherri, and Pat then followed with a series of questions directed to the candidates regarding how each felt called to serve, what special qualifications they felt they would bring to the Council, and their ability to meet the requirements of membership. Fr. Romanus and other Council members then asked questions of the candidates. Sue and Anne made their final statements and were dismissed from the meeting. The process of selection then took place with the Council voting Anne as Parish Council/School Advisory Board Representative. Pat will contact the candidates with the Council’s decision.
Father Romanus stated he would be writing the proxy letter very shortly. The purpose of this letter is to give the Archdiocese the information it needs to consider whether St. Paul’s can make much needed renovations to the Church (i.e. replacing the altar, carpeting, and other fixtures).
The priests of our parish cluster recently met to discuss who would be taking on the role of new Pastor Designate for St. Thomas Aquinas Academy School Advisory Board. Fr. Romanus was selected to fill this position, which he accepted.
Graduation of the 8th
grade class was held at
Fr. Romanus presiding at the
St. Veronica’s on programs and activities.
It was felt that it is important for more activities to come back and be
held here at
Our organist Charles Rehorst met with Father and asked if he could have a pay increase. Father Romanus felt this was needed and should be done.
The organ renovation project is nearly completed with the final finishing touches being addressed.
The work on the living room in the Rectory following the accident this past winter is finished. It’s possible the Council might begin using the room for meetings again.
A small neighborhood magazine
entitled “The Bay View Compass” was passed around for Council members to
review. It was thought it might be a
good idea to buy an ad to advertise St. Paul’s but it was determined it was not
very cost efficient. As part of our
evangelization project, the Council has been discussing ways of promoting our
parish to neighboring homes. One way
that has been discussed is developing a post card to place at homes within our
neighborhood to spark people’s interest in
The Council discussed replacing the sign on the corner of Brust and Howard with one that is more attractive. Permission would have to be given by the LaSallette missionaries, since the sign rests on their property.
A small party was held as a thank
you to both
